Mr. Sheppard is a graduate of Ball State University. He holds a degree in accounting and has lectured at continuing education seminars, primarily focusing on tax related topics.

He began his career at H&R Block as a staff preparer and quickly rose to become an Assistant Regional Director, responsible for company operations in several states throughout the Midwest. Mr. Sheppard provided employee training on leadership, financial analysis, lectures on management related issues, and is an expert on business operations. Mr. Sheppard chaired several operational task forces on a variety of issues including combing internet and traditional store operations, financial software, remote branch management operations, benchmarking, among others. Mr. Sheppard was also in charge of budgeting, profit analysis, and operational effectiveness. Mr. Sheppard was a frequent speaker at conventions to groups of employees and District Managers on a variety of topics, including profit and loss analysis, scheduling, analyzing competition, leadership, and employee training.

Mr. Sheppard started a successful internet based payroll company in 2003. The company continues to offer clients with innovative payroll solutions. As a Partner with Michael J. Knight & Co. CPAs Mr. Sheppard provides his clients with expertise in finances, accounting, individual and corporate tax, tax planning, and operational effectiveness. With professional experience in executive management in the private sector and his public accounting experience, Mr. Sheppard has become an expert in assisting his clients with all facets of their business.

Mr. Sheppard is a licensed CPA in both New York and Connecticut. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Sheppard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Sheppard is the Treasurer of the Westport Chapter of Business Networking International. Mr. Sheppard is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountant's Federal Income Taxation Committee. Mr. Sheppard has taught accredited federal income tax courses and spoken at a variety of business management oriented seminars. Mr. Sheppard is a frequent speaker in front of local business groups and has spoken before the Connecticut Bar Association on tax related issues.
